Enhancing Fieldwork Experiences to Support Student Development

This two-hour workshop will provide new and seasoned fieldwork educators an opportunity to develop and enhance various skills needed to support student development while on fieldwork for both occupational therapy and occupational therapy assistant programs.  

On completion of this workshop, fieldwork educators will be able to:

  • Understand basic competencies needed as a fieldwork educator as identified on the AOTA Self-Assessment Tool for Fieldwork Educator Competency
  • Develop site-specific fieldwork objectives to develop or enhance a fieldwork program
  • Identify and develop various site specific resources / tools to maximize student’s learning (i.e. weekly goal setting, effective use of questioning, reflective questioning, learning contracts for challenging students)

Amy received her BS from UNH with a minor in Outdoor Recreation. Over the past 15 years, Amy's experiences have been in various pediatric settings, including schools, outpatient, and community settings. Amy recently completed her doctoral work at Quinnipiac University. Prior to taking on her new role as Academic Fieldwork Coordinator at UNH, Amy also assumed positions at an OTA school in North Carolina as an Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and Department Chair.
