Participants will be able to describe the law supporting Accessible Educational Materials.

Participants will be able to describe the features of CoWriter, Snap & Read, Kami Read & Write, Claro PDF pro, and Bookshare.

Participants will be able to describe how to obtain the programs for their students.

Participants will be able to describe how teachers can prepare assignments and use Google Classroom to distribute accessible materials.

This workshop will demonstrate how k-12 students can access text with affordable, system-wide assistive technology. Programs used in Stratham will be described as
well as the process for creating system at the Cooperative Middle School to provide access to Accessible Educational Materials to all students.

Laurie McIntosh has been providing occupational therapy services to students in public schools for more than 35
years. She graduated from Sargent College, Boston
University in 1980 and received her Masters of Science in
Occupational Therapy from the University of New
Hampshire in 2001. She has taken a special interest in
assistive technology throughout her career and became
ATP certified in 2012. Recently Laurie has worked with her school district to set up affordable systems for Accessible Educational Materials for all students with disabilities.
