Presenter: Deanna Nesti, OTS

Presenter Bio:

I am in my last year of graduate school for my Master's in Occupational Therapy at the University of New Hampshire and I am the current Occupational Therapy Intern at Concord Hospital's Inpatient Behavioral Health unit. Last fall, as a part of a course, I spent one day a week running life skills groups for ten adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. I developed programming for various aspects of life as well as assisted individuals in cooking and store management at a local church thrift store. This experience was a wonderful opportunity to learn how to create and adapt groups based on individual needs and I have been applying my experience at my internship at Concord Hospital.

Goals/objectives:

1. Attendees will be able to identify the 6 main components of the Social Cognitive Theory.

2. Attendees will identify 2 ways to apply the Social Cognitive Theory in the Mental Health Setting.

3. Attendees will be able to identify two ways to apply Behavior Change programming in mental health settings.
