Presenter Bio:
Beth is a UNH graduate who has been practicing with the adult population for over 20 years. She has experience in a variety of settings including inpatient acute care, SNF, home health, outpatient, and mental health. She is working on her board certification in Gerontology through AOTA and is the past chair of the NHOTA Physical Disability & Gerontology SIS. She currently is certified as a Dementia Coach in the Positive Approach to Care.
Goals/objectives:
1. Identify the role of the occupational therapist in assessment of functional cognition.
2. Discuss common medical conditions and the impact on functional cognition and discharge planning in a variety of settings.
3. Present and discuss commonly available assessment tools and screening options when working with adults with cognitive impairment.
