Presenter Bios:

Denise Finch is an OT with more than 35 years of experience. For many of those years, she operated WorkRite Medical Associates, a private practice specializing in work evaluation, rehabilitation and ergonomics. She is now an assistant professor in the MSOT program at MCPHS University in Manchester, NH. She currently teaches courses in clinical reasoning, environments and technology and management.

Angela graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a master’s degree in occupational therapy in 2009. She has experience working with adult and geriatric populations across the continuum of care and specializes in treating clients who have sustained neurological injury and visual dysfunction. Angela incorporates clinical experience into her role as assistant professor of occupational therapy and teaches courses in mental health, assessments, adult rehabilitation and vision and cognition.

Goals/objectives:

1. Complete an occupational profile using the AOTA format.

2. Identify and use the OTPF's occupational performance language in practice.

3. Analyze the OTPF and its value in explaining and identifying opportunities for and the distinct value of OT.

4. Analyze areas of common interest relative to student learning and the needs of this practice area.

Notes:

Both presenters are committed to highlighting OT expertise in analyzing activities and mismatches between a person’s physical and mental capacities, the task demands and the environment. Come explore the Occupational Profile form, the OTPF and related performance language and discover its potential to help support your expertise and promote the distinct value of OT.
