Hi All, We are planning a 'Make and Take' school OT SIS mtg. for April 17th based on the talk by Barbara Smith who spoke at the annual conference on Oct. 26th, '12. She had lots of good ideas and had her hand made
items all out for us to explore.

Her contacts so you can prepare a little or be familiar:
RECYCLINGOT.COM or BSMITHOTR@MSN.COM or FACEBOOK - THE RECYCLING OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST. She is the author of The Recycling OT and
From Rattles to Writing, a parent's to hand skills, Amazon and Therapro have her books. Emily Hebron and Barbara Bailey have offered to help us make some of her toys, items for hand development. If you have one of her books, bring it and bring cutters for plastics (mine are called 'Open It! by www.enjoyZibra.com)

PLUS - start collecting: (could put a notice in your school daily bulletin and collect stuff in the teacher's room!)

flat plastic container lids
small plastic containers - yogurt, salsa, etc.
large detergent bottles and lids
sponges
stray pieces of velcro
odd magnets or pieces of magnets
large soda bottles

No RSVP required -
