    SIS Cancellation Policy: Cancellations received prior to the event will be refunded less a 25% administrative fee.  Alternatively, the registration fee may be applied as a credit toward another event.  Refunds will be issued to the payment processor (credit card, Stripe account, etc.) used to make the original payment.  Please allow 5-15 business days for the processing of refunds.

    Presenter(s): Karen Baxter OTR/L, Sandy Olin OTR/L, ATP, Kim Skinner OTR/L, and Lisa Freeman OTR/L 

    Presenter Bio: 

    Karen Baxter has been practicing OT for the past 37 years and has been working in the Concord School District for 30 years.  She has extensive experience in educating students with a variety of disabilities in the public school system. She works with students ages 5-21 promoting independence, advocacy and positive mental health. She works as part of a multi-disciplinary team to help students transition to life after high school.

    Sandy Olin has 29+ years of experience with 24 years in the education setting PreK- high school. She has presented at AOTA, ATIA- Assistive Technology Industry Association Conferences, and NHOTA SIS. Sandy works with verbal and non-verbal students with multiple physical and cognitive disabilities. In addition to her work as an Occupational Therapist, Sandy also leads an AT (assistive technology) team and mentors staff in occupational therapy and assistive technology best practices and is the Bookshare coordinator for the district.

    Kim Skinner graduated from UNH in 1998 with my BS in Occupational Therapy. She has been working since 2000 in the Hudson NH school district. Since in Hudson she has primarily been working with middle school and high school students.

    Lisa Freeman has been an occupational therapist for 20 years in the school system working from preschool to beyond high school age 21. She is presently employed at Pembroke High School and in Epsom, NH in their K-8 school. She also has experience in skilled nursing and home health care. She also has a certified therapy Dog, Lola who has comforted many students.

    Goals/objectives:

    1.How OTs/COTAs bring our perspective into pre-vocational training throughout the grades.

    2.How OTs/COTAs can promote pre-vocational skills in the inclusive classroom.

    3.How OTs/COTAs collaborate with the interdisciplinary team for pre-vocational goals to achieve student success.

    4.How OTs/COTAs educate their interdisciplinary team about fine-motor, activities of daily living skills, and sensory issues related to pre-vocational training.
