This presentation provides an overview of the parts of the brain that are involved with emotion, emotional memory and executive functioning in children. In this presentation, we will not only learn about the structure of the brain, but will also investigate the hormones and neurotransmitters involved in emotion and executive functioning. From there, the second part of this presentation will dig into how the structure and communication in the brain impacts reactions to- and from outside environmental factors. Specific disorders that will be addressed in this presentation will include Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, and PTSD in school-aged children.
