    Presenter: Zen Executive LLC, Kristen Porter, PhD, MS, MAc, LAc

    Presenter Bio: Dr. Kristen Porter is a visiting fellow in the McCormack Graduate School for Policy and Global Studies at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Her gerontology focus is on resilience among sexual minority older adults, transgender and gender nonconforming older adults, and those aging with HIV. She has been an invited speaker in more than ten countries spanning six continents. You can find her research in numerous journals including The Journal of Gerontology and The Gerontologist. Her most recent publication, LGBT Readiness Scan New Hampshire, is available under Resources at endowmentforhealth.org.

    Goals/objectives:

    1) Identify three areas of unique vulnerability faced by LGBT older adults.

    2) Understand the role historical context plays in the relationship of LGBT older adults with healthcare providers.

    3) Articulate one thing you will do differently in practice.
