Advocacy Committee Planning Meeting

Purpose of the Advocacy Committee:

  • Assist in identifying and tracking issues, policies or legislation that impact OT practice in NH
  • Increase knowledge/understanding of the profession of occupational therapy
  • Increase the profile of the NHOTA and occupational therapy practitioners (OTPs) as a “go to” source for OT information in the state

Recent achievements:

  • Two (2) Advocacy Committee members joined AOTA's Mental Health SIS Interstate Consortium group to help represent NH and help gain momentum for OT in mental health

About NHOTA

The mission of the New Hampshire Occupational Therapy Association is to advance the practice of occupational therapy in our state. We will accomplish this mission by supporting OT practitioners with education, mentorship opportunities, and fostering communities.  We will advocate for the profession's growth and quality at the local, state, and national level. NHOTA will raise awareness an educate the public on the unique contributions of occupational therapy.
